Trusting God and Love...
From the Message Bible:So here are the scriptures God's been speaking to me about:
2 Corinthians 1:
8We don't want you in the dark, friends, about how hard it was when all this came down on us in Asia province. It was so bad we didn't think we were going to make it. 9We felt like we'd been sent to death row, that it was all over for us. As it turned out, it was the best thing that could have happened. Instead of trusting in our own strength or wits to get out of it, we were forced to trust God totally--not a bad idea since he's the God who raises the dead! 10And he did it, rescued us from certain doom. And he'll do it again, rescuing us as many times as we need rescuing.
12b:
But it wasn't by any fancy footwork on our part. It was God who kept us focused on him, uncompromised.
And Galations 3: 2 - 6
2Let me put this question to you: How did your new life begin? Was it
by working your heads off to please God? Or was it by responding to
God's Message to you? 3Are you going to continue this craziness? For
only crazy people would think they could complete by their own efforts
what was begun by God. If you weren't smart enough or strong enough to
begin it, how do you suppose you could perfect it? 4Did you go through
this whole painful learning process for nothing? It is not yet a total
loss, but it certainly will be if you keep this up!
5Answer this question: Does the God who lavishly provides you with
his own presence, his Holy Spirit, working things in your lives you
could never do for yourselves, does he do these things because of your
strenuous moral striving or because you trust him to do them in you?
6Don't these things happen among you just as they happened with Abraham?
He believed God, and that act of belief was turned into a life that was
right with God.
So No. 1, God wants me to live trusting him, trusting him to bring about victory, trusting him to change my life. It was him who began this work in me, it's him who keeps me focused on Him, awesome hey, all I need to do it turn to him. FOR EVERYTHING, every decision, every happening, even the great things, to include him in everything!!! Not try and figure out things and how it's going to turn out...but Just knowing that I have an awesome father who LAVISHLY provides me with His own presence, his Holy Spirit...
Then God was speaking to me about LOVE:
Ephesians 1:
1Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. 2Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.
Phillipians 1: 9 -11
So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush . Live a lover's life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God
Phillipians scripture was especially hectic, cause I know I can love much, " OOOOH I love you so much (too my friends and fam), I love God so much, etc, etc." but am I loving WELL, am I serving, am I really caring about them and seeing where I can build them up, am I taking time out of my life to make their life better!
So Ja that's about it...
Depending on God in EVERYthing and loving well not much! and not self centred!
